Classic golden Belgian tripel with a vibrant character, layered and refined. According to legend, Tripel Karmeliet beer is brewed following the recipe from the Carmelite monastery dating back to 1679. The key feature of this beer, which gives it its rich flavor, is the use of three types of grains in production: oats, barley, and wheat. Despite its high alcohol content (8.4%), it is highly drinkable, with the alcohol flavor barely noticeable.

Flavor profile

The beer boasts a pleasant, smooth, rounded taste with hints of hops, citrus, herbs, banana, flowers, and pear, along with a caramel sweetness. The aroma of Tripel Karmeliet is complex, featuring notes of honey, dried fruits, and hay.

Food pairings

Tripel Karmeliet from Bosteels pairs well with Mediterranean cuisine dishes, various cheeses — including sharp and blue cheeses — as well as poultry and pork dishes.
